Hi yall, Hart here! I wanted to take a minute to explain how my signature beaded bracelets are made. From 2009-2016, I lived in Shanghai, China - working in fashion. I speak Mandarin (it was my major at Vanderbilt), although not as fluently as I used to!
My work experience in China and language skills enable me to partner with quality, small factories to produce some of my jewelry. I am really proud of my relationships with my vendors, and the handcraft that goes into each piece.
The bracelets are made in small batches, which is why I sell out so often. I am extremely careful not to create waste or low quality products. The last thing I want to do is make things that just sit on a shelf.... or break after a few wears.
Each bracelet is made from Japanese seed beads and nylon string. They are crafted by hand on tiny looms. The tassels - my signature - are also made by hand. The result is a beautiful piece with a lovely handmade feel.
I use the communication app Weixin (WeChat) to be in constant communication with my factory about every last tiny detail. Because of the 12 hour time difference, we often talk about designs very late at night, or super early in the morning.
I hope you love your bracelet. They are tough, but not invincible. So please handle with care! Be sure to not to tug on the tassel, and keep the tassel dry. Do not wear them while doing the dishes, enjoying a super sweaty workout or swimming.
